Funeral for Oscar Hale held Saturday

Funeral service for Oscar Hale, 69, was held at the Peet chapel Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Hale died July 12 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver.

Pastor Lee Williams conducted the service with Mrs. J. P. Watson, organist, accompanying Miss Susan Baribeau who sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Beyond the Sunset" Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Robert Kilmer, Valentine, Neb.; Eldon Henthorn, Rock Springs; Bob Graves and Dale Henton, Lance Creek; Everett Kilmer and Bob Black, Lusk.

Oscar Ivan Hale was born April 6, 1903, in Dixby, Okla., the son of John and Jennette Hale. He came to Lance Creek in 1927 to work for the carbon black plant until it was closed. He drove a school bus for 25 years before his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Ella S. Hale of Lusk; two sons, Gerald of Eunice, La., and A. D. Hale of Big Lake, Texas; four stepchildren, Mrs. Eldon (Marie) Henthorn of Rock Springs, Everett Kilmer of Lusk, Robert Kilmer of Valentine, Alvin Kilmer of White Hawk, Mont.; nine grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
