Oswald Mauch Crushed to Death Under Truck Apr. 12
On Thursday, April 12, Oswald Mauch, aged 49 years, of Newcastle, was killed when the truck he was driving stalled on a hill, slipped and went over an embankment, turning over several times, crushing Mr. Mauch underneath it. He was badly crushed about the chest. A passerby carried Mr. Mauch a half mile to his own ranch house, where he died.
Services for the deceased were held at Newcastle last Sunday morning, after which the remains were brought to Lusk and interment took place in the Lusk cemetery, after a short service at the grave by the Rev. S. C. Cadle.
He is survived by his widow, four daughters and his father, whose home is at Cody, Neb.
Mrs. Mauch, who was formerly Miss Hitz, suffered a double bereavement within a week. Her mother, the late Mrs. Hitz, Sr., having passed away on April 5th.
