Mrs. Lucille Murphy Zimmerman, formerly of Harrison, died at the Rest Home in Torrington Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness. She was born March 23, 1919, in Hemingford, the daughter of Emil and Edna Murphy. She grew up on her parents' ranch near Hemingford and attended the Curley Grade School there. She graduated from Sioux County High School in 1937. She then taught at the Claud Douglas School, north of Mitchell.
On April 29, 1939, she married Harry Zimmerman in Hot Springs. They made their home on the Schurr Ranch, north of Harrison. She was a member of the War Bonnet Club and the Country Square Dance Club for many years.
In 1969 she moved to Torrington where she was employed by the Goshen County Memorial Nursing Home until her illness.
She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Tamera Z. Dialessi of Swanzey, N.H., and Harry Zimmerman, father of Mrs. Dialessi; three brothers, Emil J. Murphy, Agate, James L. Murphy and Gerald C. Murphy of Hemingford, one sister, Mrs. Loretta M. Dienes of Mitchell and two grandsons.
Mass and a Christian burial were being celebrated by The Rev. James Power at 2 p.m. this Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity Catholic Church in Harrison. Rosary was recited at the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington Tuesday evening. Burial was to be in the Harrison Cemetery. Memorials were established to the Goshen County Memorial Nursing Home and the Colyer Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
