William Harold "Bill" Miller

Funeral services for William Harold "Bill" Miller, 72, were held Dec. 18, 2007 at the Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel in Douglas with Pastor Frank Wiederrecht of The Gathering officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Bill Miller, a resident of Douglas, died Dec. 13, 2007 at the Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper following a long illness.

He was born in Mule Creek on March 15, 1935 the son of James Louis and Mary Ella (Morse) Miller. He was reared and educated in Niobrara County. He served in the United States Navy. He married Nancy Marie Williams of Connecticut on Sept. 11, 1965 in Milford, Conn. He worked in the oil fields until his retirement in 1985. He was a resident of Douglas for 27 years. He loved to fish, hunt, and play cards with his sons and grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Williams; sons Michael and wife, Joann Williams, James and wife Kirsten Miller and Rodney and wife Rena Miller all of Douglas; sisters, Dorothy and husband Buzz Brown of Newcastle and Fern Bailey of Denver; brother, Harry Miller of San Angelo, Texas; brother-in-law, Robert Williams of Douglas; grandchildren, Cindy and husband Brian Cooley of Tonopah, Nev., Jasen and wife Micheala Williams of Alliance, Neb., Jennifer and husband Jody Harmon of Douglas, Shawn Williams of Douglas, Christopher Miller of Douglas, and Kayla Miller of Douglas; great grandchildren, Andrew and Brianna Cooley of Tonopah, Taylor and Kylie Williams of Alliance, Neb. and Erick Harmon of Douglas; step-grandchildren, Freedom and husband Rick Howell of North Platte, Neb., Melissa and husband Wayne McGehee of North Platte, Neb., Danny and wife Angela Danielson of Douglas, Michael Jones of Colorado, and Christopher and wife Randi Jones of Douglas; and step great grandchildren, Alex and Stephanie Howell of North Platte, Morgan, William, Cheyenne, and Curtis McGehee of North Platte, Neb. and Alexei, Elizabeth, and Andrew of Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Miller, son, William H. Miller Jr.; his parents, James and Mary Miller; sisters, Eleanor Green, Betty Harrington, and Mary Spencer; brothers, Paul Miller and Chuck Miller; and step grandson James Packard.

Serving as pallbearers were Shawn Williams, Christopher Miller, Jasen Williams, Christopher Jones, Jim Seims, Paul Hershley, and Jody Harmon.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of his many friends.

A memorial to the Tumbleweed Transportation, 214 North Fifth Street, Douglas, WY, 82633 for dialysis patients' transportation to Wyoming Kidney Center in Casper would be appreciated by the family.

Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
