Edmund Wilmot Hubbard
Former Jay Em Resident, Edmund Hubbard Dies in Nebr.
Edmund W. Hubbard, formerly of Jay Em, died suddenly at his home south of Creighton, Neb., Friday evening, January 20, at the age of 78 years.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 24, at the Methodist Church in Creighton, with the Rev. H. J. Beebe officiating. Burial was in Enterprise Cemetery and pallbearers were the nephews, Frederick, James, Edwin and Raymond Haskin, Kenneth and Gordon Raff.
Edmund Wilmot Hubbard, eldest son of Cynthia Jane and Edmund Hubbard, was born April 30, 1871, at Middletown, Vermont. At the age of 15 he moved to Antelope County, Neb., with his mother, sister and brother.
On December 23, 1897, he was united in marriage to Mercedes Haskin at Neligh, Neb. To this union were born twelve children. One of them, Clarence. resides in Lusk.
In 1927 the Edmund Hubbard family moved to the Jay Em community and remained there for 20 years, but in 1947 they returned to Nebraska.
Surviving are his wile, twelve children, and thirty grandchildren. Clarence Hubbard, on receiving the news of the death of his father, went immediately to Creighton for the services.
