George H. Howes Dies in Denver
George H. Howes of Denver died at his home in that city on May 19 after an illness of several months, death being caused by cancer.
Funeral services were conducted from the Olinger Mortuary in Denver on Saturday, May 21, with the Masonic interment of the Crown Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that contributions be made to the Cancer Fund.
George Howes lived in Lusk for many years and was married here to Miss Edith Cutler. He owned and operated the Howes Drug Store, served as Lusk's mayor and also was a member of the city council and took an active part in the civic life of the community during the years he lived here. He still retained his membership in the Masonic Lodge of Lusk.
Survivors besides his widow are two children, Mrs. Marie Cribbs of Grand Rapids, Mich. and George H. Howes, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., and two grandchildren.
