OdaLee Gandy

Graveside services for OdaLee Gandy, 89, of Shawnee, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, in Highland Cemetery in Okemah under the direction of Roesch Funeral Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Don Combs.

Gandy died Wednesday, November 2, at a local hospital.

She was born December 27, 1898 in Missouri to Ervin and Josie McDaniel. She moved to Oklahoma as a young child settling in the Okemah area. She later married Homer Gandy, who died in the late 1940's. She moved to Lance Creek, WY and lived there for five years before moving to Shawnee. During her stay at Lance Creek she taught school at the Lance Creek Elementary School during the late 1950's. She was the sister of O.W. (Bud) McDaniel who was a long time resident of Lance Creek. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist church and Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother and two brothers.

Surviving relatives include, one sister, Mary E. Ramsey, Prague; two nephews, Kent W. McDaniel, Casper, WY, and Larry E. McDaniel, Littleton, CO; and one niece, Linda McDaniel, Lander, WY.
