Lula Belle (Boyd) Johansen, 86, former resident of Lusk, died April 23 in La Grande, Ore. Funeral service was conducted a the Payne Family Mortuary in La Grande on April 27 with the Rev. Betha Hoy, officiating.
Ken Lillard sang "How Great Thou Art," and "Trees." Organist was Lola Mae McManus. Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in La Grande. Pallbearers were Nile Row, Ross Smith, George Bice, George Lorenzen, Jerry Binger and Orval Sailer.
Mrs. Johansen was born in New Market, Tenn., and married Herbert Johansen in 1915 in Pendleton. She was a homemaker, a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Bethany No. 6 and a 50-year member of the Hope Chapter No. 13, Order of Eastern Star which conducted a memorial service during the funeral.
Mrs. Johansen in survived by a sister, Marguerite Rounds of Denver, and a daughter Gayle Cork of La Grande.
