James William Gorley
James W. Gorley of Harrison Dies Tues.
James W. Gorley of Harrison, Nebr., died at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital in Lusk Tuesday afternoon after a lingering illness of several years duration.
Mr. Gorley had been engaged in the ranching business in the Whitman community for many years until forced to retire some four years ago because of ill health. Since then he has been a patient much of the time in hospitals in Denver, Cheyenne, Hot Springs and Lusk.
James William Gorley was born Aug. 5, 1882 in Elizabeth County, Tenn., the son of William and Margaret Gorley. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War.
In 1917 he married Miss Emma Noreisch of Harrison, Nebr. The marriage ceremony was performed in Casper.
A son, James Gorley, Jr., preceded him in death in July, 1951. He is survived by his wife, Emma, and a daughter, Mrs. Grace Thomas, of Ft. Benning, Ga., and three grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church in Harrison on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
