Rubie Smith dies Sept. 18

Rubie M. Smith, 86, of Harrison died Sept. 18 in the Scottsbluff hospital. Funeral service was held there Saturday at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Tieszen officiating.

Mrs. Smith was born July 21, 1893, in Tamora, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Julian Phinney of Harrison. She received her education at Harrison and Nebraska Wesleyan Academy at Lincoln.

She and Frederick Snocker were married Aug. 13, 1919. He died Aug. 16, 1944. She married Adrian Smith July 16, 1969, at Harrison. He died March 3, 1973.

Survivors include sons Wendell Snocker of Los Angeles, Vernon Snocker of Denver, Donald Snocker of San Antonio, Texas, and Charles Snocker of Scottsbluff; daughter Mrs. Frances Anderson of Torrington; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was here at 10:30 and burial was in West Lawn Cemetery at Gering at 2:30 that afterooon.

A memorial has been estalished to the Harrison Ambulance Fund.
