Beryl Crater Dies in California
Word of the death of Alfred Beryl Crater, 53, Monday, Feb. 11, at Riverside, Calif., was received here by his cousins, Mrs. R. I. Olinger and Mrs. J.B. Griffith, Sr.
He died from a heart attack while driving his car, but was able to stop the car and turn off the ignition before collapsing.
Mr. Crater was born at Cheyenne, Wyo., and came to Lusk as a baby with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Crater. The family lived here for about 10 years, until the death of the father, Harry Crater, who died here at the age of 34 and is buried in the Lusk Cemetery. With her two small children, Mrs. Crater then moved to Laramie and later to Portland, Ore.
Beryl (as he was known here) was a veteran of World War I and after his discharge from the service became engaged in the automobile industry and has been salesman for the Buick cars in Riverside for many years. He and his wife visited in Lusk last July.
Funeral services were held in Riverside Feb. 15 with burial in the cemetery at that place beside his mother who died there about three years ago.
Survivors are his wife and one sister, Mrs. Ida Ruggles both of Riverside.
