Willis F. Fahy

Funeral services for Willis F. Fahy, 81, were held Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1993, at 10 a.m. at the Guernsey Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Hovland officiating. Interment was in the Prairie Rest Cemetery near Guernsey.

Mr. Fahy died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1993, at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.

He was born July 9, 1912, at Flattop, Wyo., the son of Frank J. and Mary (Manion) Fahy.

He was reared and educated in the Flattop area, and he also spent his early adulthood farming and ranching there. In 1943 he moved to Guernsey, where he worked as a bartender at Kelley's Bar for 38 years. He was married to Margaret Hasara on May 25, 1944, in Hartville. To this union one son, Willie L. Fahy, was born. Margaret died in July 1963, and Willis remarried to Amy C. (Schooley) Graham on Sept. 18, 1972, in Douglas. He remained a resident of Guernsey until the time of his death. He was a kind, gentle man, who was devoted to his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Amy; his son, Willis; one sister, Georgia Boner; one niece, Margaret Haas, all of Guernsey; and two nephews, Dale Hebert of Westminster, Calif., and Mike Hebert of Crescent City, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; two sisters; two brothers and one niece.

A memorial to the Guernsey Rescue Unit or to the Guernsey Senior Citizens Center would be appreciated by the family.

The Platte County Funeral Chapel of Wheatland was in charge of the arrangements.
