Mrs. Myrtle Batten Dies Here Friday
Mrs. Myrtle Grace Batten, wife of Ernest Batten of Torrington, died at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk Friday. Dec. 7, after having been admitted to the Hospital about two weeks prior to her death.
The deceased, the mother of Mrs. Mary J. Baldwin of Lusk, she was a member of the Eastern Star with her membership in a Kansas chapter. She was born at Winfield, Kans. Nov. 20, 1885.
Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel Monday, Dec. 10, with the Rev. Harold Weaver officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. H. J. Templeton as soloist, accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson. Members of the Elks Lodge acted as casket bearers. They were 0. E. Max-field, Kenneth Erlewine, Harleigh Johnson, Jack Melugin, Charles Vaughan and Frank Christian. Interment was in the Lusk cemetery.
Survivors besides her husband and daughter, Mary J. Baldwin, include a granddaughter, Erna Lee Bircher, and a great grandchild.
