Jensen Found Dead Tuesday

J.P. Jensen, 88, a rancher in the Hat Creek area since 1910, was found dead in his bed Tuesday morning. Mr. Jensen had been in ill health for some time.

Funeral services have tentatively been set for 2:00 p.m. Friday.

Funeral for J.P. Jensen Held in Lusk Friday

Funeral services for Jens P. Jensen, 88, a long-time Niobrara resident, were held from the Peet chapel Friday afternoon. He was found dead Tuesday morning at his home in the Hat Creek area.

The Rev. Frank Bozart, pastor of the Lusk Open Bible Church, officiated at the services. Mrs.Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Lyle Eddy sang, "What a Friend" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist.

Casket bearers were Larry Lorenzen, Clarence Darling, Keith Reed, Morris Jensen, James Jensen, Dennis Lorenzen.

Jens Peter Jensen was born in Denmark November 5, 1872, the oldest of ten sons born to Jens Christian and Anna Jensen. When Jens was four the family came to America and located in Racine, Wisc. Mr. Jensen grew to manhood in Wisconsin, and on September 15, 1892 he and Anna Georgina Jorgensen were married. They lived in Wisconsin until 1910 when the came to Wyoming and homesteaded east of Hat Creek.

Mr. and Mrs. Jensen were the parents to 13 children. Two died in infancy. Sons, Arthur died in 1946 and Leroy in 1947. He is survived by his wife, sons, Albert of Scenic, So. Dak., Joseph of Honesdale, Pa., Earl of Lusk, Elmer of Worland, Marvin of the home ranch; daughters, Verna of Yakimow, Wash., Anna of Keeline, Gladys of Atherton, Calf., Edith of Fresno, Calif. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother in Wisconsin and 23 grandchildren and 28 great grand-children.
