Richard Marsh Dies In Auto Crash Near Denver Sun.

Many Lusk people were startled when listening to the news on the radio Monday morning to hear that Richard Marsh, former resident, was killed in an auto accident Sunday afternoon near Parker, Colo.

There were no witnesses to the accident, but the state patrol officer stated that Marsh apparently fell asleep at the wheel of the car, which went into the ditch, veered back onto the highway, then overturned four times throwing Marsh through the windshield. He was killed instantly.

The victim is the son of Mrs. E.C. Marsh of Denver and Robert Marsh of Lusk. He was born in Sioux City, Ia. July 10, 1910 and when a small child moved to Lusk where he was reared. His mother owned and operated the Lusk Hospital for many years and "Dick", as he was known to everyone, attended the Lusk schools, graduating from high school in May of 1929. He then attended the University of Wyoming for a year.

Entering the employee of The Lusk Herald he learned the trade of printer and linotype operator and worked there until 1936 when he went to Cheyenne where he was employed by both the Cheyenne Tribune and Eagle.

Enlisting in the Navy, he served during World War II and was a member of Stewart Post of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Cheyenne Elks Lodge. While residing here he was a member of the Lusk Golf Club.

Mr. Marsh and his wife and two sons moved from Cheyenne to Denver about 10 years ago where he was employed in the newspaper work and was working as linotype operator for the Daily Journal at the time of his death.

Surviving are his wife, Louise, and two sons, Michael and Richard, and his mother, Mrs. E.C. Marsh, all of Denver, and his father, Robert Marsh of Lusk.

Private funeral services will be held this Wednesday afternoon at the Rogers Mortuary in Denver and cremation will follow at Fairmount.

Because of ill health Robert Marsh was unable to attend his son's funeral.
