Mrs. Mary M. McConaughey, widow of the late Isaac N. McConaughey, and mother of Joe McConaughey of the Divide community, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Friday, June 21st, at the Spencer hospital. The deceased was ill but four days, succumbing to a cerebral hemorrhage.
At the time of demise, the deceased was 84 years, 7 months and 28 days of age. She has resided in this county for the past 27 years at the family home in the Divide community, until recent years when she made her home with her son, Joe McConaughey and family, also of the Divide vicinity. During those years she acquired a large circle of admiring friends, who will all miss her cheerful ways.
Concluding services were held at one o'clock Sunday afternoon, in the chapel of the Peet funeral home with Rev. F.O. LeLaCheur, pastor of the Lusk Gospel Hall, Open Bible Standard church, officiating. Music during the service was presented by Mrs. Ted Lohr playing the violin, and accompanied by Mrs. Judson P. Watson at the organ, Mrs. F.O. LeLaCheur impressively sang two solos, "An Evening Prayer" and "We'll Never Grow Old."
Interment was in the Lusk cemetery where the deceased was laid at rest beside her husband. Caskebearers were Harry E. Cornell, Clarence Kilmer, Frank Taylor, Jess McCormick, Gilbert Brinkerhoff and Ewald Hitz, all close friends and neighbors of the McConaughey family.
Mary Magdalene Miley was born in Burbon County, Kan., on October 24, 1861, the daughter of George and Kernelia Miley. She moved with her parents to southern Iowa and in that locality grew to womanhood.
At the age of 18 she was baptized and united with the Methodist church which had been the church of her choice throughout her life. In 1883 she was united in marriage to Isaac N. McConaughey at Durham, Iowa. To this union six children were born, four of whom survive; Joe McConaughey of Lusk; Ted McConaughey of Borger, Tex., Mrs. Kate Clark of Oregon and Paul, of Washington. She was preceded in death by her busband in August of 1942.

Mrs. Magdalene McConaughey Dies Last Friday Morning, Funeral Sunday
Mrs. Mary Magdalene McConaughey, 84, passed away at the Spencer Hospital, Friday morning, June 21 at 7:30 after a brief illness, having suffered a cerebral hemorrhage a few days previous.
She had been a resident of this locality for the past 27 years having lived in the Divide community north of Lusk, until the past winter when she moved to town.
Mary Magdalene Miley was born in Burbon county, Kansas, October 24, 1861. She was the daughter of George and Cornelia Miley and when a small child moved with her parents to southern Iowa where she grew to womanhood.
In 1883 she was married to Isaac N. McConaughey at Durham, Iowa and they were the parents of six children, four of whom survive.
Mr. and Mrs. McConaughey came to Wyoming about 1919 and the husband passed away in August of 1942.
Mrs. McConaughey was baptized and united with the Methodist church when 18 years of age.
She is survived by three sons, Joe of Lusk, Ted of Borger, Texas, Paul, address unknown and a daughter, Mrs. kate Clark of Oregon.
Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel at 1:00 on Sunday afternoon. Rev. F. O. LeLaCheur, pastor of the Gospel Hall officiated. Mrs. J. P. Watson presided at the organ with Mrs. Ted Lohr playing the violin and Mrs. LeLaCheur sang "Evening Prayer," and "The Land Where We'll Never Grow Old."
Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery and the casket bearers were Ewald Hitz, Harry Cornell, Frank Taylor, Jess McCormick, Clarence Kilmer and Gilbert Brinkerhoff.
