Mrs. M. A. Fosher, Pioneer Resident, Passes Away Sunday; Final Rites Are Held Tuesday; Interment at Manville

Mrs. Mollie Fosher, wife of Matt A. Fosher of this city, passed quietly away early Sunday morning, July 29th, at the Spencer Hospital. Mrs. Fosher had been ill for several years and recently suffered a stroke and her condition became worse until her demise. She had been hospitalized for only a matter of a few days.

Concluding rites were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon, August 1st, which also would have been her 81st birthday anniversary, from the chapel of the Peet Funeral home. Rev. Billy J. Hughes, pastor of the Church of Christ officiated at the rites.

During the services a ladies quartet, composed of Mesdames O. M. Rasmussen of Manville, Ab DeCastro, C. E. Marvin, and Wm. G. Watt, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Abide With Me." "Rock of Ages" was sung as a duet by Mesdames Rasmussen and DeCastro with Mrs. Judson P. Watson presiding at the chapel organ.

The Silver Cliff Chapter of American War Mothers also conducted a memorial service at the chapel under the direction of Mrs. Walter Schnorenberg, Mrs. Lydia Taylor and Mrs. John McCleery. Mrs. E. R. Costlow Bixby sang "Crossing the Bar" as a solo during the memorial.

Interment was made in the Manville Cemetery with Jalmer Thon, A. Houchin, C. E. Marvin, Anton Larson of Lusk, and Rawleigh Reed and Lee C. Stoddard of Manville acting as pallbearers.

Final Rites For Mrs. Matt Fosher Held Here Tuesday

Concluding rites were conducted from the chapel of the Peet Mortuary Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock for Mrs. Mollie A. Fosher, who died in the Spencer Hospital July 29 following an illness of five years.

The Rev. Billy Hughes, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiated at the services. Mrs. O. M. Rasmusen, Mrs. A. F. DeCastro, Mrs. William G. Watt and Mrs. C. E. Marvin sang "Abide With Me," "Rock of Ages" and "Beautiful Isle." Mrs. J. P. Watson provided the organ accompaniments and chapel music.

During the services, the Silver Cliff Chapter of the American War Mothers performed the ritualistic rites. Mrs. Walter Schnorenberg, Mrs. Lydia Taylor and Mrs. Margaret McCleery, all members of the War Mothers, were in charge. Mrs. E. R. Bixby of Los Angeles sang "Crossing the Bar" during these rites.

Burial was made in the Manville cemetery with the following as casket bearers: Jalmer Thon, C. E. Marvin, Lee Stoddard, Raleigh Reed, Tony Larson and A. Houchin.

Mollie A. Whitmer was born to Thomas Whitmer and Katherine Harrof Whitmer Aug. 1, 1870 in Perry, Ia. She was married to Matt A. Fosher in 1893 in southwestern Nebraska.

Early in 1896, Mr. Fosher came to Wyoming and in December of the same year Mrs. Fosher and their youngest son, Allen joined him in Lander. In 1915 they homesteaded southwest of Manville where they lived until 1935. That year Mr. and Mrs. Fosher sold the ranch and moved to Lusk.

Survivors include two sons, Allen and Harold both living south of Manville, four grandchildren: Betty, Ramie and Dean Fosher of Keeline and Dann Fosher of Laramie; and one great grandchild.

Obituary - Mrs. Matt Fosher

Mollie A. Whitmer was born Aug. 1, 1870, the youngest daughter of Thomas and Katherine Whitmer of Perry, Iowa. In 1886, Mollie Whitmer moved with her parents to McCook, Nebr. There she was married to Matt A. Fosher on March 22, 1893.

In the fall of 1896, the Foshers moved to Lander where they resided for a number of years. The spring of 1914, they homesteaded southwest of Manville, where their three sons grew to manhood.

Mr. and Mrs. Fosher moved to Lusk in 1935, where she resided until her death July 29 at the age of 80 Years.

Survivors include: her husband, Matt A. Fosher of Lusk; two sons, Allan and Harold and wives of Manville; three grandsons, Dean and Ramie Fosher of Manville, Dann Fosher of Laramie; one graddaughter, Betty Fosher of Manville; one great grandson, Glen Fosher of Laramie; a sister-in-law and family, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Beckwith of Lander.
