Stricken Early Tuesday Morning With Heart Attack; To Be Buried Here Today.
Carl Fertig, rancher of the Van Tassell vicinity, died at his home about 8:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, July 7th of heart failure. He had been in apparently good health but awakened early that morning and arose about 5:30 o'clock with a pain in his chest, which he and members of this family thought might be an attack of the flu. Mr. Fertig was almost 42 years of age. He had lived around Burge and Van Tassell for the past eighteen or twenty years and had a host of warm friends in that vicinity. He came from Albion, Boone County, Nebraska, to this state.
He leaves his widow and two sons, Harry and Leonard, and one brother to mourn his loss besides other relatives in Nebraska.
Complete details are not available at this time but the obituary will appear in our next issue.
Funeral services will be held from the Congregation church in Van Tassell at 1:00 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon, with interment in the Lusk cemetery. The remains were in charge of the Peet mortuary.
