Ralph Berg

Ralph Berg was born Feb. 14, 1906 and died Dec. 19, 1983 at Niobrara County Memorial Hospital in Lusk following a long illness.

He lived in the Cheyenne Orphan's Home until he was five years old and was adopted by John and Augusta Berg. He grew up in Wheatland where he attended school.

As a young man he moved to Harrison, Nebr. to live with his sister, Rachel. There he met Frances VanBlarcum, whom he married Feb. 25, 1925 at Lusk. Ralph joined the Open Bible Church and gave his heart to the Lord in 1966.

He was employed by the railroad, Highway department, Gelesnite mines, Bennite mines, drove truck for many years and had been employed on several different ranches. He was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Olen Ray Berg, one sister, two brother, two grandsons and one great grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Frances of Lusk; four daughters, Violet Carnes of Lemon Grove, Calif., Clarabelle Payne of Mojave, Calif., Jean Robinson of Meeteetse and Gerry Tollman of Lusk, one son, Gordon Lee Berg of Meeteetse; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk Dec. 22, 1983 with Rev. Clayton Crosby officiating.

Music was by Esther Bozart, organist and Mark Lohr sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Where the Roses Never Fade".

Honorary pallbearers were all his friends. Pallbearers were Dale Terrell, John Willson, Jerry Miller, William Wilcox, Richard Pfister and Delmar Wilkison.

Interment was in Lusk Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Niobrara Memorial Nursing Home.

Arrangements were by Peet Mortuary.
