Rubye Creek

Graveside services for Rubye Lyneda Creek, 83, of Sheridan, who passed away June 12, 1989 in St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, Mont., following a short illness, were held Friday, June 16, at 2 p.m. at Willow Grove Cemetery with Reverend Duncan Lanum of the All Souls Episcopal Church of Edgerton officiating.

Rubye was born on Sept. 29, 1905 in Denver, Colo., to William and Leona (Stiglitz) Walker, (Author of The Longest Rope).

Rubye received her schooling in Lyons and Loveland, Colo. She married Harold Creek on Sept. 30, 1923, in Loveland, Colo. They moved from Loveland to Midwest, Wyo. in 1927 where he was employed by Standard Oil Co. They were transferred from Midwest in 1957 to Newtown, N.D. In 1961 they were transferred to Powell where Harold retired from Pan American Petroleum Corp. in 1966 and moved to Story. From there they moved to Hulett in 1978 and to Sheridan in 1987.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Casper and Royal Neighbors of Midwest. She was a member of the All Souls Episcopal Church of Edgerton and was the organist for 15 years. She loved music and gardening. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year.

She is survived by her husband, Harold, one son, Bill Creek of Jakarta, Indonesia; two daughters, Lenora Redman of Story and Oma Jean Chapman of Edgerton; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; one sister Violet Siglinger of Lusk; and one brother, Eugene Walker of Hulett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, three grandsons, one sister and one brother.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Ronald McDonald House or the Lutheran Center in Billings, Mont. Donations may be left at the Adams Funeral Home which was in charge of all arrangements.

Pallbearers were Jim Wise, Eldon Moudy, Cliff Bulkley, Bill Chapman, Worth Redman and James Aksamit.
