Frances E. "Eleanor" Kropatch
Memorial services for Frances Eleanor Kropatch, 91, were held March 12, 2007, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Jerry Connealy officiating. She died March 8, 2007, at Pierce Manor, in Pierce, Neb.
She was born June 27, 1915, in Polk County, Neb., the daughter of Charlie Iwan and Mary Gonka.
She graduated from Kramer High School, Columbus, Neb., and on Aug. 9, 1943, she married Emry Kropatch in Fort Lawton, Wash. After marriage, they ranched at Cheyenne River for 30 years and then moved to Lusk, where she worked as a business administrator at the hospital. In 1979 her husband, Emry, passed away.
She moved to Norfolk, Neb., in 1980. Since 1994, she had been living with her daughter, Deb Theisen. In November 2003, she went to the Osmond Care Center. She then went to the Pierce Manor for a short time.
Survivors include her daughter, Deb Theisen and her husband, Pat, of Pierce; her son, Michael Kropatch and his wife, Maura, of Powell; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents; her husband in 1979; two brothers, Louis and Edward; and three sisters, Adelaid, Helen and Marianne, preceded her in death.
