Funeral services for Edna A. Zerbst, 80, were Aug. 5, 1997, at Worden Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Wilson of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed at the Upton Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials are to the Weston Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Zerbst died Aug. 2 at Weston Manor Nursing Home in Newcastle following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 14, 1917, on the family homestead south of Upton, to Avilo and Minnie (Rose) Butolph. She was raised south of Upton and attended country schools. On April 23, 1940, she married William R. Zerbst at Newcastle. To this union, four children were born. For the past eight years, she has made her home at Weston Manor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1985, four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include sons Robert of Rozet and Glenn and Leonard, both of Newcastle; daughter Irma Wasserburger of Lusk; brothers Glenn, Harold and Ray Butolph, all of Newcastle; sisters Nancy Zerbst of Newcastle and Edith Clark of Colfax, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Worden Chapel of Newcastle was in charge of arrangements.
