Ethel Louise York

Rosary was recited for Ethel Louise York, 80, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 1994, at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk. Funeral Mass was conducted by Father Patrick Shea at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. York died June 25 at her home. She was born May 30, 1914, to Carl and Mary Hess Cannon at Jireh, Wyo.

She married Jesse Lee York on March 27, 1937, at Hot Springs, S.D. They resided at Lost Springs for a time and ranched at Lance Creek, Wyo., until Jesse's death in March, 1986.

Ethel was a very beloved teacher in numerous country schools for ten years and she was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed growing roses, flowers and working in her yard and home. Her favorite pass-time was caring for her dog Sandy.

She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, St. Leo's Altar and Rosary Societies.

Preceding her in death was her husband Jesse.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Geisinger of Hat Creek, Wyo., and Nancy Burnough (Burnaugh) of Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren, Robyn Heth of Lance Creek, Wyo., Tracy Wasserburger of Gillette, Wyo., Barbara Long and Bruce Brunough (Burnaugh) both of Springfield, Mo.; seven great grandchildren, Logan and Rebecca Heth, Jory Treyton and Hayley Rae Wasserburger, Kaleen and Kelli (Kelle) Long.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Legend of the Rawhide of Lusk, Wyo., of which Ethel was a devoted supporter.

Arrangements were by Bader Funeral Home.
