Memorial Services for longtime Lusk resident Jacqueline (Jackie) Lou Smith, age 78, will be March 9 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Lusk, with Pastor Tom Strock officiating. Mrs. Smith passed away March 1 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington.
Jackie was born in Torrington on Sept. 13, 1928, the daughter of Ernest and Mabel Grace (Robey) Kissack. In 1954 she married Harold J. Smith of North Dakota at the Episcopal Church in Torrington. They moved to Lusk shortly after their marriage, where their son, Carl R. Smith, was born in 1955, and daughter Jessie L. (Smith) Bonsell was born in 1967.
Jackie enjoyed her embroidering, music, playing pinochle, and going to the Senior Center in Lusk. She loved her family very much.
She is survived by her daughter Jessie Bonsell and her husband Jim, her son Carl Smith and his wife Alexis, all of Lusk, her sister Joyce Pyle of Torrington, Wyoming, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1982, and her sisters: Iva Lee Farmer, Wanda Schultz, and Jill Clark.
Her ashes will be placed at the foot of her husband's grave.
Memorials may be made to either the Lusk Senior Center or the First Baptist Church in Lusk.
Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is in charge of arrangements.
