Clifford Leroy Wilkison

A memorial service for Cliff Wilkison, 70, of Manville, was held April 3, 2003, at Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, with Pastor Mark Lohr officiating. Private inurnment of the ashes will take place at a later date.

Cliff Wilkison died March 29, 2003, in Torrington, Wyo.

Clifford Leroy Wilkison was born Aug, 23, 1932, in Lance Creek, Wyo. to Floyd and Annabell Moore Wilkison. He attended school in Lance Creek and Manville.

He married Grace Lohr on Feb. 9, 1952, at the United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff, Neb. He worked in different oil fields and drove truck throughout his working years.

He was inducted into the service on Feb. 9, 1953. His boot camp training was at Camp Polk, La. The rest of the time was spent with the 522nd Infantry at Fort Sill, Okla.

He loved calling square dances, singing and playing the fiddle. He was a member of the Rawhide Jamboree, Casper Fiddle Club, and the Wyoming Country Music Foundation, and a former president of the Lusk Lions Club.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Grace of the family home; six children, Vicky and her husband Gary Wilson of Cheyenne, Wyo., Steve Wilkison and his wife Donna of Gillette, Wyo., Ruby and her husband of Dave Pedri of Rock Springs, Wyo., Dallas Wilkison and his wife Bev of Yerrington, Nev., Juanita and her husband Douglas Snyder of Carey , N.C., and Randy Wilkison and his wife Andrea of Laramie, Wyo.; 18 grandchildren, Richard and Megan Wilkison, Michelle and Sean Montierth, Tiffany and Dan Butters, Justin and Sarah Wilkison, Janet and Diana Wilson, Amanda and Kelby and Brady Wilkison, Hannah and Allison Snyder, Jermoy and Britany Wilkison; four great grandchildren, Dayton, Tanner, Landon, and McKinley Butters; three brothers, Richard, Ronnie and Bud Wilkison; and two sisters, Connie Burdick and Doris Valencia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Donald; two sisters, Nellie Clingman Bunner and Rose Moore.

A memorial has been established. Those wishing may make contributions to the Cancer Foundation, Lusk/Niobrara Ambulance of the Terminal Care Unit at the Community Hospital of Torrington.
