Mrs. Cyrene Jacox Dies From Stroke
Mrs. Cyrene Jacox, 61, died on June 30, at 8:15 p.m. after a long illness, following a paralytic stroke in December. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2:30 from the Peet Chapel, with the Rev. O.F. Shroyer officiating.
Al Davenport, Dave Wood and the Rev. Billy Hughes sang three selections, "Abide With Me," "Nearer My God to Thee," and "It is Well With My Soul." Mrs. Judson P. Watson was chapel organist.
Burial was made in the Lusk cemetery, with pallberers being Harold Fosher, Ramie Fosher, Raleigh Reed, Matt Bass, Bob Marsh and Fred Dean.
Cyrene McKissack was born on March 31, 1889, at Springview, Neb., the daughter of Wiliam Riley McKissack and Ellen Evens. They came to Wyoming in 1930, engaging in the stock business at Van Tassell and Keeline.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacox moved to Lusk in 1940, when ill health forced their retirement. Repeated strokes followed the stroke in December.
Her husband preceded her in death May 9, 1950. Survivors are her two brothers, Karl McKissack of Phoenix, Arizona, and Claud of Redondo Beach, California.
