Dennis Wasserburger
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Wasserburger, age 37 of Lusk, was held Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lusk with Father Patrick Shea officiating. Private interment took place at the Lusk Cemetery.
Dennis entered into Heaven Nov. 17, 2001, at Ogallala, Neb., as a result of a truck accident. Dennis was born May 21, 1964 to James and Irma (Zerbst) Wasserburger in Newcastle. He was raised on the family ranch in northern Niobrara County.
He attended Fairview rural school, Lusk Middle School and graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1982. He attended Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie graduating in 1988.
Dennis married Sherry Knight in Rapid City, S.D., on Dec. 26, 1992. To this union, one daughter Dyllynn, was born on July 2, 1993. Dennis' big love was his daughter. He was so very proud of her.
He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting on the family ranch, and always taking great pride in his pickups. His family was the center of his life, spending time with his two brothers, learning all his mechanical abilities from his Dad, and he thought Mom's custard pies were the best.
Dennis was employed with Blattner Construction, working in many states and leaves behind many friends who meant the world to him.
Those waiting to reunite with him in heaven are his daughter Dyllynn, his parents, brother Ken and sister-in-law Karen from Gillette, brother Ben and sister-in-law Kellie from Bismarck, N.D., nieces Kaycee and Krystal and nephew Devon, close friends Dale and Eddie Harris, and many beloved family and friends. He is deeply loved and will be sadly missed by all that loved him.
In his new heavenly home he is greeted by his paternal grandparents, John and Katherine Wasserburger, maternal grandparents, Bill and Edna Zerbst, uncle Leonard Zerbst, close friend Steve Henriksen, and many other loved ones.
A memorial has been established for Dennis' daughter Dyllynn at Security Bank, P.O. Box 216, Harrison, NE, 69346.
Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home of Lusk, Wyoming was in charge of arrangements.
