Harry L. Wampler Dies Here Friday

Harry L. Wampler, 63, of Lusk, died Friday afternoon at the Spencer Hospital following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Peet Chapel with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating. Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery.

A mixed trio composed of Mrs. Otha Holcomb, Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Donley Unruh sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden." Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist.

Pallbearers were Frank Johnson, Z. B. Crinklaw, Max Heth, Fred Bryant, Charles Vaughan and C. E. Marvin.

Harry Leon Wampler was born in Marysville, Mo., December 24, 1893. At the age of 25 he came to Alliance and about a year later he, his brother Wilmer and their mother came to Niobrara County and homesteaded on Dogie Creek north of Lusk. He was married to Bertha Freeman and they were the parents of five children, all of whom survive: Mary Ellen Mudra and Ernest, Lusk; Dorothea Lang, Denver: Hazel Bunge Deadwood, S. D., and LeRoy of Henry, Nebr. One sister, seven brothers and nine grandchildren also survive. His parents, one sister and one brother previously died.
