Ellen Irene Vaughan
Ellen Irene Vaughan died Dec. 20, 1995 at Michael Manor Nursing Home in Douglas. She was born Apr. 24, 1915 in Douglas, the youngest child of Charles E. and Etta V. (Thralls) Senters.
On Nov. 21, 1937 she was married to Zeno M. Renig (Reinig) in Scottsbluff, Nebr. where they lived until moving to Denver, and later Los Angeles. Poor health forced his retirement and they returned to Lusk to make their home in 1969. He died Apr. 1, 1979. Their baby daughter died at birth.
She later married Joseph Vaughan who died in 1991.
She was a trained beautician and followed that profession for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, two husbands and baby daughter, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Roy Sherman, and Victor B. Senters, Edna V. Austin, and Edith M. McGinnis.
She is survived by two nieces, Maxine (Austin) Koch of Arlington, Va. and Louise (Austin) Lawrence and her husband, Lester of Porterville, Calif., four grand nieces, two grand nephews, three great-grand nieces and three great grand nephews.
The prayer vigil service was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22 at Bader Funeral Home in Lusk. Funeral mass was celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23 at St Leo's Catholic Church in Lusk.
For those who wish, memorials to Niobrara County Memorial Nursing Home in care of Bader Funeral Home would be appreciated by the family.
Interment will follow the services at the Lusk cemetery.
Bader Funeral Home of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.
