Funeral services for Harold Wayne Bartow, Jr., 57, were held on Feb. 2 at Lighthouse Ministries Church with Pastor Rick Carroll officiating. Cremation followed the services. Wayne died at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver on Friday, Jan. 26.

Wayne was born on July 31, 1949 in Lusk, the son of Harold Wayne and Sadie (Gladson) Bartow, Sr. The family moved to Torrington where Wayne received his education; graduating from Torrington High School in 1967. He then served in the US Navy from 1967 until 1972. His final cruise was with his Heavenly Father where Wayne will rest in peace.

Following his discharge from service, Wayne returned to Torrington and attended the refrigeration program at Eastern Wyoming College. He was truck driver, a heavy equipment operator, and a refrigeration technician. Wayne also worked at Holly Sugar. He lived in Henderson, Texas for a short time and he met Chelly Vandre. The couple married on March 3, 1984 in Torrington. They moved to Wisconsin where they lived for a time. Wayne was the first Wyoming recipient of the LVAD Mechanical Heart Pump, which he received in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2005.

Wayne enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, camping, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Chelly of Torrington; a son Nathan Bartow; two daughters, Jennifer Morgan and Beth Allan (Bartow) all of Torrington; his sister Kathy (Dale) Beaman of Torrington, an uncle Virgil Gladson of Torrington; an aunt, Lois Bartow of Colorado; four nephews, Chris Beaman of Casper, Wyoming, Brad (Mareta) Beaman of Torrington; Ricky Vandre of Texas and Harlan Terry of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-mother, Bonita Bartow, and one nephew, Justin Vandre.
