Esther G. "Ty" Tryon

Memorial services for Esther G. "Ty" Tryon, 75, of Shelton, Wash., were held Tuesday, March 3, 1992, at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Shelton with Rev. Steven Schroeder and Dr. Ludvig Eskildsen officiating.

Tryon was born July 10, 1916 in Medina, N.D. to John and Marie (Zinck) Prill. She died Feb. 28, 1992 in Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Wash.

She lived for many years in Wyoming before moving to Washington State in 1966. She lived in Federal Way before moving to Shelton 20 years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Shelton and a member of the Mason General Hospital Auxiliary. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, served as president of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a guardian for Job's Daughters. She was a member of A.A.R.P. and the Mason County Social Activities Association. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining friends and cooking.

She married Cecil E. Tryon in Fort Collins, Colo., April 19, 1947.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil of Shelton; a son, Dennis Tryon of Vancouver, Wash.; two daughters, Sharon Grella of Bellevue, Wash. and Billie Ann Manning of Lusk; two sisters, Anne Doyle of Mexico, Mo. and Helen Phillips of Vancouver, Wash. and nine grandchildren.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements were under the direction of McComb and Batstone Funeral Home of Shelton.
