Rose Lee Thomson, age 55, of Manville died on Sunday, November 5, 2000 from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident between Manville and Lusk.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 9, 2000, 10 a.m., at the Congregational Church in Lusk. Interment followed in the Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas. Pastor Jason Playle of the Manville Community Alliance Church was the Officiant.
Rose was born on January 20, 1945 in Douglas, Wyoming to William and Grace (Spracklen) Robertson. As a young girl she spent her time in the Cold Springs and Esterbrook areas where her father ran a sawmill. She also attended school in Esterbrook and Douglas.
In the late 50's her family moved to Douglas, where she finished her elementary years and attended high school. While in high school she was a member of the Pep Club and the National Honor Society. Her senior year she was the Homecoming Queen in the Fall and the Honored Queen in Job's Daughters of Bethel #1 Douglas in the Spring. She graduated from high school in 1963 and attended the University of Wyoming for one year.
On July 26, 1964 she married David R. Thomson in Douglas. The couple lived at the Thomson family ranch Northeast of Douglas where they raised three children; a son Jeffery David born in February 1970, a daughter Kristol Lee born in May 1971 and another son Mark William born in September of 1974.
In the fall of 1982 she and the children moved to Manville so the children could attend school in Lusk. While in Manville she worked at the Lusk Elementary and Middle School Library as an assistant librarian and in later years she became the head librarian. During this time she completed her Associate Degree in General Studies from Eastern Wyoming College. Following her retirement in 1994 Rose returned to the Thomson ranch. She moved to Manville in 1999 after her divorce and resided there until her death.
Rose was active in the Manville Community Alliance Church and helped teach Children's Church. She was also on the Manville Town Council and filled in at the Manville Post Office on a part-time basis.
Mom lived life to the fullest and always let her heart set her priorities. She adored her "Precious", her grandchildren, and loved spending time with them as well as the rest of her family and many friends.
She enjoyed traveling to Portugal, Holland, Spain, South Korea, China, Canada, and most of the United States including Hawaii. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles and working in her yard. She enjoyed people and never met a stranger. She had fun working with flowers and spending time with her friends, at the flower shop; going on walks with the Manville ladies or having a cup of coffee with a friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Rose is survived by her children; Jeff and Jackie Thomson of Ulsan, South Korea, Kristol and Mark Miller of Manville and Mark and Maria Thomson of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a twin sister Elizabeth Robertson of Douglas; and four granddaughters; Mikayla and Nicolette Thomson of South Korea and Katelynn and Kassidy Miller of Manville.
Pallbearers were Pat Miller, Paul Spracklen, Joe Falkenburg, Wayne Riehle, Bud Middleton and Prosper Etchemendy.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk and Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas were charge of the arrangements.
