Ralph L. Thomas

Ralph L. Thomas, 83, died July 24, 1999.

He was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Edgemont, S. D., to Ira and Christina Thomas and was raised on the family homestead in eastern Wyoming. In 1934, he graduated from Lusk High School.

He was a sergeant during World War II, serving in the Pacific.

On April 10, 1948, he married Helen Hales in Lusk. In the same year they moved to Cody, and later to Red Lodge, Mont., where they owned Harley's Cottages. In 1964, they built the Sundance Supper Club.

Ralph was a member of the Yellowstone Bighorn Research Association for 30 years and was elected a Counselor in 1980.

He was a life member of the Elks Club in Cody.

He is survived by his wife Helen, of Red Lodge; stepdaughter Georgia Canfield, son-in-law George Canfield and grandson Clint Canfield, all of Clark, Wyo.; sisters, Irene Roth of Edgemont, S. D., and Ruth Montgomery and her husband Hank of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two nephews and five nieces; and brother-in-law Bud Allen and his wife Betty of Lusk.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Everette.

At Ralph's request, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place.

Donations in his name may be made to Beartooth Hospital and Health Center Foundation, or any charity of choice.
