Marian Thielbar
Marian Thielbar, 91, of Lodi, Calif., died January 13, 2004 of heart failure after a brief illness. She was born June 14, 1912 in Monmouth, Ill.
Miss Thielbar was raised on a family farm homesteaded by her parents in Van Tassell, Wyo., and lived in Denver, Colo. She lived in San Leandro and the Bay Area for more than 50 years, before moving to Lodi in 1989. She was a retired office manager and secretary working mostly in the insurance and investment industry.
She was a member and past officer of the Republican Women Federated of Lodi and San Leandro, a member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, the Eastern Star and majority member of Job's Daughters. She was an accomplished seamstress; avid sports fan and gardening enthusiast.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Clara Thielbar, her brother, Donald Thielbar; and sister, Gertrude Browne.
She is survived by her family members, Claire Lima, Kimberly Austin, Domenic Lima, Stefano Lima and Antonio Lima.
Memorial services were held at noon on January 24, 2004, at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Richard Matters, The Rev. Raymond Knapp and the Rev. Eric Yeoman III, officiating.
Committal will be private at Mountain View Cemetery in Piedmont.
