Richard Francis Church, Sr.

Memorial services for Richard Francis Church, Sr., will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 23,2003, 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ by Brian Lombardi.

He died Jan. 17, 2003, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

Born Oct. 5, 1934, in Kirtley, he was the son of Francis and Goldie (Boyles) Church; he attended Kirtley and Lusk schools. He and his brother were award winning amateur singers.

He joined the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., where he met and later married Ada Hawkins on Jan. 31, 1956.

A construction worker, he spened (sp) the last 23 years of his career at JTL, until his retirement. He was an avid horseman and loved ranch life.

He loved people, life, his family, afternoon drives, watching wildlife and football games, hunting and fishing. His mornings were spent helping get the Kopper Kettle in Mills open and running; it was his second home.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years and their three children, Richard F. Jr., and Terry, both of Casper, and Vickie Lee of Mills; daughter, Barbara Anne Stallman of Lusk, from a previous marriage; stepdaughter, Darlene Niel of Casper; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hial Church of Stillwater, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and an infant brother.
