Anna Marie Strohecker, 83, of Casper passed away October 21, 1995, at her home. Cremation has taken place; memorial services will be held at a later date.
Anna Marie Strohecker was born May 19, 1912, in Node, Wyoming, to Chris and Mary Christiansen Salvesen. After attending elementary, high school and normal training in Lusk, she began teaching in Niobrara County rural schools in 1930.
In 1941 she married Louie Strohecker and they ranched west of Casper, where Mrs. Strohecker taught school at the Empire Oil School 1943 through 1945 and at the Poison Spider School through the 60's. After the disappearance of her husband, Louie, she moved to Casper in 1975.
She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, the American Legion Auxiliary and the First Baptist Church. She was the first volunteer to the Casper Senior Center's RSVP program.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Margaret Strohecker of the family ranch; three grandchildren - Michele Strohecker of Seattle, Wash., Karla Volpe of King of Prussia, Pa., John Strohecker of Casper; and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters - Mrs. Merle (Laura) Frasier of Casper and Edna Van Sant of Flint, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie, and her parents.
The family has established the Anna and Louie Strohecker Scholarship Fund at Casper College for those wishing to give a memorial.
