Edna Stallman

Edna Stallman, 92, a resident of Gillette, Wyo. and a former longtime Lusk resident, passed away Monday July 17, 1989, at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 1989, at 10:30 a.m. at the Blanche Beck Memorial Chapel at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette. Pastor Jack Hopper of the Northside Baptist Church will officiate. Interment and graveside services will take place at 3 p.m. at the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Stallman was born on June 16, 1897, on the 77 Ranch near Lance Creek to George Converse and Emma Jane Hitchue (Hitshew) Keithley. She grew up and attended schools in Lusk.

On May 21, 1915, she married Jacob Theodore Stallman in Lusk. They lived and raised their family in Lusk. At one time, Mr. and Mrs. Stallman manufactured and produced Gold Nugget Potato Chips. They did this for many years up until Mr. Stallman's health forced them to retire in the late 1940s.

Mrs. Stallman later lived in nursing homes in Torrington and Lusk prior to moving into the Pioneer Manor in Gillette in 1980.

She was a member of the Baptist Church and her favorite time was spent gardening, raising flowers, cooking for others and crocheting. Her true pride and joy in life were her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Jean Hoy of Gillette and Betty Jane Boston of Hennessey, Okla.; a sister, Mary Moore of Denver, Col.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette.

Friends wishing to pay their respects may do so Wednesday, July 19, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Noecker Funeral Home in Gillette. They are in charge of the arrangements.
