Neale C. Sprague, Grandson of C. L. Brewsters, Dies of Injuries Received in Automobile Accident; Rites Tuesday
Neale C. Sprague, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Brewster, pioneer residents of Niobrara County and son of Mrs. Inez Kelly of Long Beach, Calif. died Saturday morning, November 24, from injuries received in a car accident near Long Beach, Calif. Sprague, a salesman for an oil supply company was driving his car late Friday afternoon when it was hit broadside by another car, having two occupants. He received a head injury and it was reported by relatives that he never regained consciousness.
The day prior to the accident, Thanksgiving Day, other than having a holiday was also the birthday anniversary of the Sprague's small daughter, Susan, and the Kelly and Sprague families had celebrated the happy occasion together. During the happy gathering they had also called Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Brewster long-distance and the three families had all had a brief visit.
Neale Charles Sprague was born January 2, 1923 at Edgemont, South Dakota, the only child of Inez (Brewster) Kelly. He was reared at his grandparents' ranch in the Bright community and attended grade school at Fairview.
He attended and was graduated from the Lusk High School with the class of 1940. During World War II, he served with the U. S. Navy and received special training at Valley City, No. Dakota.
Sprague, who had attained the age of 33 years, ten months, and 21 days, is survived by his wife, Peggy, and daughter, Susan, his step-father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kelly, all of Long Beach, Calif., his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Brewster of Lusk, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Last rites were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 27th, from the Mottell Mortuary in Long Beach. The BPO Elks lodge of Long Beach was in charge of the services. Interment was made in a cemetery at Long Beach.

Neale C. Sprague, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Brewster, died November 24 from injuries received in a car accident near Long Beach, Calif. Funeral services were held November 27 from the Mottell Mortuary in Long Beach with the B.P.O. Elks lodge of Long Beach in charge. Burial was made in the Long Beach Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy and daughter, Susan; his step-father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kelly all of Long Beach; and his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Brewster of Lusk.
