Alice Marie McDonald Smith
Alice Marie McDonald Smith, 89, was born near Sioux Falls, S. Dak. on Jan. 4, 1895. She died October 25 at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital in Lusk.
She came to Wyoming when she was first married and lived on a ranch near Keeline.
Alice was a long time member and very active until her health failed, of the following women's organizations; Royal Neighbors, Does, Lusk Women's Club, the Legion Auxiliary, 5280 Extension Club of Keeline and the Cowbelles. She had been ill for several years and following a broken hip last fall had been in failing health.
She was preceded in death by her only son Marion Dale Garrett and her husband Lloyd (Doc) Smith.
She is survived by two nieces and two nephews; Mrs. Jeanne Johns, Kasota, Minn., Mrs. Carole Westcott, Mapleton, Minn., George E. DeVries, Fremont, Nebr., and Donald A Hassing, Manville. She is also survived by several grandnieces and nephews.
Services for Alice Marie Smith were held at Peet Mortuary Chapel, Lusk, Oct. 29, 1984 at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Lamos officiating and a Does service.
Music was by Edna DeCastro, organist, with Mildred Miller, Jerold Romprey and Lois Romprey singing, "Where The Roses Never Fade," "Going Down The Valley" and "Beautiful Isle."
Pallbearers were Bob Pfister, Doyle Davies, Gene Bartow, Jerry Miller, Paul Percival, Ray Edwards, Bob Templeton and Jim Santistevan.
Interment was at the Lusk Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Peet Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to Episcopal Church, Open Bible Church or the Senior Center.
