Private memorial services were held for Donald J. Sharon, 61, of Douglas Wednesday Aug. 10, at the Masonic Lodge in Douglas.
Mr. Sharon died Friday at the Converse County Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 26, 1922 at Rochester, Minn. He was reared in Minnesota and Utah. In the Air Force during World War II, he served as a radio operator and gunner and later joined the 327 Glider Infantry Regiment.
Mr. Sharon was employed throughout his lifetime in the lumber and hardware business. At the time of his death he was employed at Russell Lumber in Douglas. He was manager of Frontier Lumber in Lusk in 1963 and left this area in 1976.
He married Tillie Albrecht of Omaha, Nebr. Feb 11, 1946. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, the Highland Masonic Lodge No. 86 A.T. and A.M. in Denver, Colo. and the American Legion in Douglas.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Steve Sharon of Casper and one daughter, Sue Lee of Lander and one grandchild, Ariana Sharon Lee. He was preceded in death by parents Elbert J. Sharon and Jeannette Sharon and one sister Luella Sharon.
Memorials to the Douglas Senior Citizen's Center in care of the Lusk State Bank will be greatly appreciated by the family.
