Victor B. Senters

Memorial service for Victor "Vic" Senters was held Friday at the Peet Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Senters died at the Memorial Hospital at Casper on March 2.

Victor B. Senters was born March 2, 1902, at Longpine, Neb., to Charles Edward and Etta Victoria Senters. His early childhood was spent in Douglas and then the family moved to Lusk. He received his formal education in the Douglas and Lusk schools.

As a young man Mr. Senters worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He then went to work for the State Highway Department. In 1936 he and Effie I. Lorenzen were married at Fort Morgan, Colo. In the early 1940s Vic Senters was in partnership with John Lorenzen in the Firestone Store and the Texaco Service Station in Lusk. He built and operated Vic's Drive-In Cafe for a number of years and after that was a car salesman working at Ford Motor for Jim Berry and then later he sold cars for Bob Grove. He retired in 1965.

Mr. Senters was a member of the Open Bible Church, serving as a Board member and also as chairman of the Board for a number of years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lusk, the Wyoming Consistory and the Shrine Club.

The Rev. Frank Bozard conducted the March 5 memorial service. Music was provided by Minerva Watson, organist and Joy Kaltenheuser who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset."

Active casket bearers were Rod Geisinger, Robert Templeton, Harry Brown, Richard Barnette, Allen Hineman and Herb Klindt. Honorary bearers were Jim Shillenn, C.E. Marvin, William Miller, Cooley Taylor, Leonard Fulk, Noal Larson, Frank Kuhn, Calvin Dillon, Everette Brooks, Archie Huey, Harold Gautschi and Ed Boner.

Interment was in the Lusk cemetery. The family has established memorials to the Shrine Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Mr. Senters is survived by his wife Effie of Lusk; three sisters, Edith McGinnis, Irene Vaughan and Edna Austin, all of Lusk; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
