Louie H. Scheer, 86, Dies Sat.
Louie H. Scheer, 86, long time resident of the Jay Em community died Saturday in the Niobrara Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.
Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk Tuesday with the Rev. Frank Bozart of the Open Bible Church officiating. Burial was in the Jay Em Cemetery.
Mrs. A.F. DeCastro was organist and Mrs. Lyle Eddy sang, "The Lord's Prayer" and "Rock of Ages."
Pallbearers, all grandsons, were: Vernon Scheer, Ed Foote, Ray Foote, Jerry Baker, Joe Smith and Tom Nichols.
Louie Henry Scheer was born October 11, 1877 at Battle Creek, Neb. the son of Fred and Minnie Scheer. October 22, 1899 he and Rosa Bartman of Battle Creek were married. They had five children.
In 1913 they moved to a ranch near Jay Em where they lived until a few years ago when they moved to a home in Jay Em.
He is survived by two sons, Art of Jay Em and Louis of Lander; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
