Elizabeth M. Ruffing

Elizabeth M. Ruffing, 77 of Ontario, Oregon died Saturday 8/5 in an Ontario Care Center. Graveside inurnment will take place at 10:00 a.m., Thursday 8/17 at the Lusk Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ontario's Lienkaemper Chapel.

Mrs. Ruffing was born October 19, 1917 at Princeton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Peter and Mary Gurney Kraftchak. She married Robert Ruffing on April 9, 1944 in California where Robert was stationed with the U. S. Navy. Following the service they moved to Wyoming where they ranched until moving to Gamble, Oregon where they were engaged in farming. They then moved to Crater Lake, Oregon where they took care of the Lodge for a couple of years. They then moved to Forest Grove, then on to Ontario where she has since resided. In her later years, Betty lived at Meadowbrook Retirement Center before moving to the care center.

Betty enjoyed doing Volunteer work at Holy Rosary Medical Center in Ontario and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a very pleasant person and always had a smile for people.

Mr. Ruffing passed away in October 1989.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Kemp of Tavares, Florida, a brother Edmund Kraftchak of Palm Springs, Flordia. Several nieces and nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.
