Funeral Services for Margaret Elizabeth Robb, 90, former longtime Campbell County resident, were held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, June 5, 1995, at the Noecker-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Willie J. Tolison of the Church of Christ, WY officiating. Burial followed at the Gillette Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
She died Friday, June 2, 1995, at the Wyoming Medical Center, Casper, following a heart attack.
Margaret was born July 8, 1904, in Plattsmouth, Neb. to John Grant and Nora (Dasher) Leuchtweis. At the age of 13, she moved with her family to homestead in southern Campbell County. She attended high school in Gillette until she started working as a cook for various ranches.
She married Charles Franklin Robb on December 21, 1922, in Gillette and moved to his farm 13 miles south of Gillette. She lived there for 52 years, raising her family of five sons and seven daughters.
One son, Charles Earl, was killed in combat during the Korean Conflict.
On August 12, 1969, her husband died at the Hot Springs VA Medical Center, Hot Springs, SD. She continued to live on the family homestead with her two youngest sons. In 1974, she moved with them to a ranch 20 miles northwest of Lusk. She resided there until October, 1994, when, because of poor health, she moved to Casper to live with her youngest daughter, Joyce. She had planned to spend the summer at the ranch until her deteriorating health caused her to cancel those plans. She enjoyed the wide open spaces, new lambs, new calves and new babies. She never tired of telling her listeners about her 12 children. Her family and many friends enjoyed her fresh baked bread for 75 years.
She was an active member in the VFW Auxiliary, Gold Star Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary in both Gillette and Lusk.
Margaret is survived by four sons, James, Tom and Ray of Lusk, and Gene of Denver, Colo.; seven daughters, Helen Ruth Oliver, Dorothy Severson and Joyce Johnston of Casper, Alice Davis of Truth or Consequences, NM, Carol Bates of Hamilton, Wash., Elsie Wilkins of Mariposa, Cal., Mildred Galyen of Rapid City, SD; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy Moore of Tacoma, Wash. and Katherine Peterson of Gillette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one granddaughter, three grandsons, two brothers and one sister.
A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association and donations may be sent in care of Noecker-Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 734, Gillette, WY 82717.
