Juanita Phipps
Memorial services for Juanita Phipps were held March 13, at the Methodist Church in Harrison, Nebraska with Reverend Neal Kloppenborg officiating. Burial was in the Harrison Cemetery.
Juanita was born July 3, 1909 in Harrison, Nebr. to James and Orpha Christian. She was raised north of Harrison and graduated from Sioux County High School in May 1927.
On June 4, 1928 she married Julian Phipps; he preceded her in death in 1986. They raised two sons, Charles Rodney Phipps and Bob Duane Phipps. They moved to Newport, Washington in 1934, returning to Nebraska in 1938. She taught rural school in rural Sioux county.
In 1970 they retired from the ranch and made their home north of Van Tassell, Wyo. In the fall of 1985 they moved to the Ranger Apartments in Lusk.
Juanita moved to Ponderosa Villa in Crawford in November of 1996 where she remained until her death on March 9, 1999.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sons Rodney and Bob; sister Mary Fisher and grandson Bruce Phipps.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Rocky of Lusk, Tony of Van Tassell, Brenda of Gillette; Joe of Casper; John of Glenrock and Gary of Douglas, their families, three daughters-in-law, a brother-in-law and her great grandchildren.
The family would appreciate memorials to the Methodist Church in Harrison, Nebraska.
Bader Funeral Home of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.
