Claude Isaac Parmely

Long-time resident dies Thurs.

Claude Parmely, long-time area farmer and carpenter, died last Thursday at the Niobrara hospital. Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at Peet Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Frank Bozart presiding.

Organist was Minerva Watson, and Mark Lohr sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset." Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Alvin Parmely, Franklin Parmely, Neil Parmely, Robert Parmely, Paul Parmely and Darrel Tschacher. Honorary bearers were Lloyd Coleman, Stanley Johnson, Judson Watson, Ray Edwards, Walter Schnorenberg and Kenneth Wright.

Claude Isaac Parmely was born Dec. 25, 1886, at Miller, S.D., the son of Fremont and Alice Whitney Parmely. He attended school in Miller and in 1908 began farming at Wessinton Spring, S.D. In 1926 he moved to Keeline where he farmed and did carpenter work. In 1932 he moved to Lusk.

He and Sylvia Green were married Feb. 23, 1908, at Wessinton Spring. She died on May 25, 1960.

Mr. Parmely is survived by six children, Harriet Smith of Spark, Nev., Everette Parmely of Harrison, Della McAllister of Lusk, Erma Tschacher of Glendo, Clifford Parmely of Manville, and Glen Parmely of Lusk; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
