Sara (Sally) Grant Percival

Sara "Sally" Grant Percival died Saturday, Aug. 19, 1989, at the Community Hospital in Torrington following a lengthy illness.

When she was less than a year old, the family moved to Iroquois, S.D., where she grew up and was educated. She attended South Dakota Normal School at Aberdeen, S.D., and taught several years. She then returned to college and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Commercial Education. She came to Wyoming to teach and eventually came to Niobrara County and taught at Manville and Lusk.

In 1942, she married John Stone and they made their home in the Ranger Hotel. She was bookkeeper for Midwest Skelgas Co. for George Gibson for many years. In 1953, she married Roger Percival. They owned and operated the Lusk Liquor Store until Roger's death in 1980. She continued to make Lusk her home.

She and her husband were both interested in young people and their nieces and nephews and were very supportive of the 4-H program in Niobrara County.

Mrs. Percival was a member and past state president of the Business and Professional Women, Niobrara Chapter #26 Order of Eastern Star, PEO Chapter I, served on the Niobrara Library Board and was a director of the Lusk State Bank.

Survivors include her sister Emily Whaley of Mac's Inn, I.D. and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation services were held. At her request, there is not to be a designated memorial.
