Private family services for Lula L. Norberg, age 77, were held Sunday, October 9, at the Pringle Cemetery, Pringle, S.D.
Mrs. Norberg died Tuesday, October 4, 1994, at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital in Lusk. She was born March 7, 1917, in Harold, S.D., the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Sayre) Austin. She attended the Big Bend School south of Pierre, S.D., where her mother was a teacher. Lula graduated from Pierre High School in 1934 and then attended Normal School for a short time before finishing her school at the National School of Business in Rapid City.
She married Carl Norberg on June 18, 1941, at Pringle, S.D. They lived at Pringle for 20 years before moving to Gillette in 1961 where she and Carl ran the Maverick Station. In 1973, they moved to Hanna, where she worked for Fenimores Chevrolet and station until they moved to Lusk in 1982 to live with their daughter and grandson.
Lula's hobbies included sewing, quilt making, gardening and bird watching.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, and two sisters, Mary and Dorothy.
Survivors include: her daughter Chris and grandson Rory of Lusk; two sons, Lee and family, and Joel and family, both of Gillette; plus seven nieces and two nephews.
Memorials to the Lusk Senior Citizen's Center would be appreciated by the family.
Bader Funeral Home of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.
