Francis Mulligan Dies At Ranch Near Manville
Francis J. Mulligan, 66, died suddenly of a heart attack July 16 at his ranch home near Manville. Rosary services were held Friday evening in the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in St. Libory, Nebr. Requiem Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Andrew Augustyn, pastor of St. Libory Catholic Church Saturday morning. Burial was made in the St. Libory Cemetery.
Mr. Mulligan was born March 8, 1892 at St. Libory, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mulligan. He received his elementary schooling at St. Libory and continued his studies at the St. Paul Business College and at Kearney State Teachers College. He taught school for three years in the schools of Howard County, Nebr.
He homesteaded near Manville in 1914 and has made his home there except for the time spent in the United States Army during World War I. His sister, Miss Helen Mulligan has made her home on the ranch with him and has an interest in the operation.
Mr. Mulligan was baptized and confirmed in the St. Libory Catholic Church.
He is survived by a brother, Leo Mulligan of Grand Island; two sisters, Miss Helen Mulligan of Manville, and Mrs. Gertrude Stone of Grand Island; and several nieces and nephews.
