Edward J. Fleming, 87, of Kalispell, Mont. died of natural causes Saturday, September 25 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Edna Taylor and Mary Fleming.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, at home; four children, David Fleming, Whitefish, Mont.; James Fleming, Kalispell, Mont.; Margie Gunderson, Newman Lake, Wash.; and Catherine "Kitty" Rhodes, Columbia Falls, Mont.; one brother, Elmer Fleming, Lusk, Wyo.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Edward J. Fleming, 87, died at his home in Kalispell, Mont., on Saturday, Sept, 25, 1993.

He was born July 12, 1906, in Ulysses, Neb., to Edward J. and Elizabeth (Wilson) Fleming. He moved to Jay Em, Wyo., in 1918 where he attended school and worked as a rancher.

On May 8, 1933, he married Elizabeth Behrens in Fergus Falls, Minn. They lived in Wyoming, where he worked as a rancher and government trapper.

In 1940, he moved his family to Kalispell, where he worked in the lumber industry and as a carpenter for C & C Plywood until retiring in 1983. He immensely enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and trapping.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Taylor and Mary Fleming. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, at home, four children, David Fleming of Whitefish, James Fleming of Kalispell, Margie Gunderson of Newman Lake, Wash., and Catherine "Kitty" Rhodes of Columbia Falls, brother Elmer Fleming of Lusk, Wyo.; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A funeral service was conducted at the Johnson Mortuary Chapel with burial at the Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
